The Packster 70 is Riese & Müller’s latest e-cargo bike and it really can replace a family car. You can carry up to 375 litres (240 litres without the Cargo Carry system upgrade) and the high side walls mean that your load will stay safely in situ – whether it’s a few kids or a big bag of shopping.
Whether you are riding or parking, getting on and off or loading – with its low centre of gravity and countless details, the Packster 70 is incredibly simple to use at all times. Its small turning circle means that it is ideal for riding and manoeuvring in tight spaces. The combination of high-performance headlamp with daytime running light and well distributed reflectors guarantees that you can see and be seen.
As with all Riese & Müller bikes, there are plenty of options to choose from. The main item you want to look at is the cargo box – do you need 2 child seats or 3? It’s always worth getting a tarpaulin cover too, for those rainy days.
I always recommend the GX pack for the chunky Schwalbe Johnny Watts tyres – they give you a much wider base for rounding corners in the city. I’d go for the DualBattery option too – it gives you around 100 miles of travel without needing a re-charge – one less thing to think about once you’ve emptied out your cargo boxes!
