We’re always on the lookout for the latest advancements from Bosch, and they’re coming pretty regularly with the Bosch Smart System.
Version 1.18. is an exciting one, offering unprecedented customization and new features. Here’s what’s new:
Personalised Riding Experience with Dynamic Displays
The introduction of dynamic displays for Kiox 300 and Kiox 500 is something we’re particularly excited about. These displays adapt to your riding conditions in real time, showing you the most relevant data without switching screens manually. Whether climbing steep hills, racing downhill, or navigating flat terrains, your display will show you relevant information such as speed on downhills or elevation profile and power on the ups. It’s like having a smart assistant right on your handlebars and it means you’ll spend less time pressing buttons and more time enjoying the riding.
Enhancing Fitness Goals with Heart Rate Monitor Integration
Ebikers riding for fitness have been asking for this feature for a long time. Bosch has implemented the ability to connect heart rate monitors directly to your eBike through Bluetooth. This feature is a significant step forward for riders focused on fitness and performance. By tracking your heart rate on the Kiox 300 or Kiox 500 displays, you can keep a view of heart rate data more easily as part of your ride.
Navigational Improvements and Elevation Graphs
We know that many of you use your eBikes to explore new paths and areas. The elevation graph feature will now allow you to see the profile of your current ride, helping you anticipate the journey to come. Coupled with the Quick Menu for easy navigation changes, these updates bring flexibility and control to your fingertips, making adventure rides more enjoyable.
Customisable Riding Modes for Every Style
Everyone rides differently, and Bosch’s update acknowledges this by letting you personalize your riding modes. Whether you prefer the efficiency of Eco mode or the adaptive support of Auto mode, you can now select and customise your four favourite modes. This level of customization ensures that your ebike responds precisely to your preferences and riding conditions, making for a smoother, more enjoyable journey.
Insightful New Displays and Quick Menus
There are also some new displays for monitoring your riding mode usage, and a getting a quick view on the how the power usage is broken down on a ride. You can easily see how much of time you’ve spent in each mode and even how much your pedalling has contributed to the power.
There’s also some pretty handy quick menus for the Kiox300 and 500 that make changing routes on the fly a pretty simple operation or enable navigating to recent destinations.
We’re pretty excited by these updates, and having initially been rather scathing of the Bosch Smart System in its early form, we now think it’s a brilliant piece of software that keeps getting better.
