Nevo3

Dan's overview:

If you are looking for a bike that is easy to get on and off but still capable of doing anything you choose to throw at it, then you won't go far wrong with the Nevo3. 

The plan was deliver this new version of the popular Nevo in 2021. But with huge uplift cycling over 2020, the old Nevo sold out! Riese & Müller were quick to react and released early the 2021 model, and it has proved even more popular than the last one!

Variants and options are very similar to the Charger3. The major difference is the step-thru frame which takes into account that you may not be quite as nimble in 10 years, as you are today.

Price range: £3,729 to £7,527

Variants: The Nevo3 is presented in five different specifications;

• Touring (Shimano Deore XT 11-speed derailleur and chain drive)
• Vario (Shimano Deore XT 11-speed derailleur and chain drive)
• GT touring (Shimano Deore XT 11-speed derailleur and chain drive)
• GT vario (Enviolo 380 continuos hub gear with Gates belt drive)
• GT Rohloff (Rohloff 14 speed electronic shifting hub with Gates belt drive)

The GT models have the addition of a Cane Creek thudbuster suspension seatpost, and wide Schwalbe Moto-X tyres. Great when you just can't help but stray off the tarmac.

Colours: There are three different colours to choose from. 

• Dynamic Red Metallic
• Luna Grey Metallic
• Pure White

Sizes: The Nevo3 comes in a range of frames sizes to suit nearly all riders. The small 43cm frame also has a smaller 26" wheel.

• 43cm (for riders 1.55-1.70m)
• 47cm (for riders 1.65-1.80m)
• 51cm (for riders 1.70-1.85m)
• 56cm (for riders 1.80-1.95m)

Options: As with all Riese & Müller bikes, there are plenty of options to help you get your bike just right, straight out of the showroom.

• Display: Choose from Intuvia, Kiox, Nyon or Smartphone Hub. All but the Intuvia come with an adjustable stem as standard.
• Battery: Either 500Wh and 625Wh single battery or 1,000Wh and 1,250Wh dual battery.
• GX pack: If you are planning more off-road trips the GX pack is a must have. It adds Schwalbe rock Razor tyres, studded flat pedals for more grip and Ergon grips with bar ends. It is only available as an upgrade on the GT bikes.
• Front carrier: Not only does it allow you to carry another bag on the front...it also looks really good!

My recommendation:

I'd choose the GT vario, in Dynamic Red Metallic with the 625Wh single battery. This bike will require little maintanance, and I like the idea of the slightly larger battery just for piece of mind. For the options I'd choose the Nyon cockpit, GX pack and front carrier.

All in, delivered, set-up and with a full hand-over by EDEMO for £4,987 inc VAT.

Then I'd also add a pair of Vaude 48l Aqua back pannier bags in black for £120... and maybe some Sealskin gloves for £50... and an Abus Urban Helmet for £79.99... and a Buff? Then I'd head out for a tour of the Cotswolds, and I know some really good green lanes to the middle of nowhere :)
