Last year was reasonably quiet for sales of the Homage whilst we all eagerly awaited an announcement of a new model.

Well, now it's here, and it doesn't dissapoint! So, please form an orderly queue :)

The Homage is a truly unique bike unmatched by any other on the market today. The step-thru design, full suspension, Bosch Gen4 performance CX motor and twin batteries built into the downtube delivering whoping 1,250Wh capacity is a first for the electric bike industry.

Price Range: £5,409 to £8,968

Variants: The Homage is presented in three different specifications;

• GT touring (Shimano Deore XT 11-speed derailleur and chain drive)
• GT vario (Enviolo 380 continuos hub gear with Gates belt drive)
• GT Rohloff (Rohloff 14 speed electronic shifting hub with Gates belt drive)

Colours: There are two different colour to choose from. 

• Deepsea Blue Metallic (available on 625Wh and 1,250Wh dual battery versions)
• Pearl White (available only on the 625Wh version)

Sizes: The Homage has always been quite a substantial bike, and there are now three frame sizes available. 

• 49cm (for riders 1.65-1.80m)
• 54cm (for riders 1.75-1.90m)
• 58cm (for riders 1.80-2.00m)

Options: As with all Riese & Müller bikes, there are plenty of options to help you get your bike just right, straight out of the showroom.

• Display: Choose from Intuvia, Kiox, Nyon or Smartphone Hub.
• Battery: Either 625Wh single battery or 1,250Wh dual battery.
• ABS: Bosch anti-lock braking is available on the GT touring and GT vario bikes.
• GX pack: If you are planning more off-road trips the GX pack is a must have. It adds Schwalbe Johnny Watts tyres and studded flat pedals for more grip.
• Comfort kit: If off-road is not so much your thing and you would rather go all in on comfort, this option will give you a swept back handle bar and wide saddle, at no cost.
• Front carrier: Not only does it allow you to carry another bag on the front...it also looks really good!
• Dropperpost: Surely this is a must have. A lever on the handle bar drops the height of your saddle so you can get your feet flat on the floor at the lights!

My recommendation:

How I am going to use it...?

I'm going for some weekend rides and regular commutes.

I'd go for the GT Rohloff, in Pearl White with single battery. For the options I'd choose the Nyon cockpit, comfort kit and dropper seatpost. All in, delivered by EDEMO and set-up £7,273 inc VAT.
