Lease your perfect e-bike
We’ve partnered with UK Bike leasing specialists, BikeFlex, to offer you even more options to start riding your perfect e-bike.
Whether you are considering replacing your vehicle with a cargo bike or switching your car for an e-bike for your commute, bike leasing offers a smaller initial outlay, less commitment and more flexibility. There’s no initial deposit, just monthly payments over 24 months. After that period, you can either hand the bike back, switch to a new bike or pay the difference to own the bike.
It’s like car leasing but for bikes.
There are three different lease plans to choose from, personal lease, salary sacrifice or business lease.
A personal bike lease is an excellent way for individuals to get their hands on a brand-new e-bike without worrying about the upfront cost. With a personal bike lease, you rent the bike for 24 months and pay a monthly fee. This fee covers the cost of the bike and insurance with Laka. You must commit to servicing your e-bike with EDEMO or an approved dealer three times over 24 months.
At the end of the lease term, you can either return the bike or purchase it outright. This can be a great option for those who want to test out a bike before committing to a purchase or who want to upgrade to a new bike every few years.
A business lease works in much the same way as a personal lease but with additional tax efficiencies. Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss this.
Cycle to Work Salary Sacrifice for Ebikes
Cycle-to-Work is a UK Government scheme that allows employees to save money on a bike by paying for it via salary sacrifice. Salary sacrifice means that your employer takes the payments for the e-bike from your gross (or pre-tax) salary every month. You save because you pay no tax on that money. How much you save, in terms of your out-of-pocket expense, is determined by your tax band.
